Background
Center for Alliance of Labor and Human Rights (CENTRAL) is a Cambodian non-governmental organization working on organizing and supporting the Cambodian working people through legal aid and other appropriate means to demand transparent and accountable governance for labor and human rights.
CENTRAL is seeking a Part-Time Research Assistant to conduct a case study on the nutrition and health situation of textile workers in Cambodia. The study will generate evidence-based findings to support advocacy on workers' rights to adequate food, safe drinking water, and healthy working conditions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design the case study and research methodology.
• Interview workers and facilitate focus group discussions.
• Undertake a case study of one selected garment factory.
• Assess food access, drinking water, and heat-related health risks.
• Analyze findings and develop recommendations.
• Present findings to CENTRAL and partners.
Deliverables
• Inception Report and research tools.
• Case Study Report (approximately 5 pages).
• Advocacy Position Paper.
• Presentation of key findings and recommendations.
Qualifications
• Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Labor Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience in research and qualitative data collection.
• Good understanding of labor rights, occupational safety and health (OSH), and Cambodia's garment sector.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills in English.
